Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

Welcome to the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation page. Here you will find transportation listings for traveling to and from medical facilities such as doctor's offices, diagnostic testing centers, outpatient clinics and hospitals.

Non-emergency medical transportation is for patients who require special assistance or medical attention  while in transit from one location to another, and who do not require medical intervention or treatment or rapid transport to an emergency facility.

There are several agencies and businesses in Southwest Michigan that offer this type of transportation and they include:


Cass County Council on Aging

Serving Cass County residents over 60 years of age

Cass County Council on Aging volunteers provide transportation to out-of-county medical appointments. Wheelchair accessible van is available as needed. Call for more information. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Van Buren Emergency Medical Services (VBEMS)
Serving areas of Van Buren County   

Van Buren Emergency Medical Services: owned and operated by Bronson Healthcare Group, providing Non Emergency Medical Treatment transport: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in additional to Emergency/Ambulance: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to: Almena, Antwerp, Arlington, Decatur, Hamilton, Lawrence, Paw Paw, Porter and Waverly in Van Buren County.

Pride Care
Pride Care offers Non-Emergency Medical transportation in southwest Michigan.  Pride Care offers contracts to regular users but requires first time users to provide payment up front.  Pride Care offers services based on availability.

Lighthouse Concierge is a  transportation company open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - offering door to door, non-emergency transportation. This service does not offer wheelchair accessible service.

Serving Berrien and Van Buren Counties

Medic 1 and Wheelchair Express provide wheelchair and stretcher transportation for routine non-emergency medical appointments within Berrien and Van Buren Counties. Please call 24 hours in advance. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sanders Non-Emergency Medical Transportation
Serving Berrien,Cass and Van Buren Counties

Sanders Non-Emergency Medical Transportation provides wheelchair transportation for routine non-emergency medical appointments within Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. Please call 24 hours in advance. Hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday with prior notice.

Hayes Day Tripper

Serving areas of Van Buren, Cass and Berrien Counties 

Hayes Day Tripper provides non emergency medical appointment rides  with a wheelchair accessible van.  There is transport wheelchair, walker and a cane available for any client that may need assistance.  Hours are 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.  

To make arrangements contact Stephanie Hayes via phone or email: hayes1747@yahoo.com.  Ms. Hayes is willing to travel to Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor or where the appointment takes you.  Care givers ride along for free.  Base cost is $15 round trip and $1 per mile from the pick up to drop off point.

Area Wide Transport is a private sector transportation company open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - offering door to door, non-emergency transportation. All  drivers are screened; CPR/First Aid certified with advanced training in servicing clients with special needs.

MEDCOACH

Cross Country/Out of State Transportation

MEDCOACH provides comfortable non-emergency medical transportation service in a hospital bed in a motor home with a private nurse.  MED Coach is equipped with oxygen, suction, pumps, feeding tubes, B-PAP etc. and a private bathroom.  It can be an alternative to an air ambulance medical flight. However they are not a Medicare or Medicaid provider.
