Governance

Berrien Bus is organized under Public Act 94 and is overseen by 12 members who are elected and serve on the Berrien County Board of Commissioners.  Board meetings are held every Thursday throughout the year, excluding the fifth Thursday of the month and holidays.  The convening time for all regular meetings is 10:30 am unless otherwise specified with due notification. 

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners contracts with Transportation Management Inc. (TMI) to broker transportation services for Berrien Bus Berrien. TMI is responsible for operations and some administration.   

Location of the Council Meetings

Regular meetings are scheduled held , most often, every Thursday at 10:30 am in the Board of Commissioners’ Room at the Berrien County Administration Center at 701 Main Street, St. Joseph, Michigan.  Public transportation is available and can be scheduled by calling  Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority or Berrien Bus.

Funding

Berrien Bus receives funding from several sources: Passenger and contract fares; the State of Michigan; the Federal Transit Administration.
