Governance

Dowagiac Dial a Ride (DART) is organized under Public Act 279 of 1909, Home Rule City Act and is overseen by the seven elected council members.   The Council meets twice monthly on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Location of the Council Meetings

All meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall unless otherwise posted. Any changes to regularly scheduled meetings will be posted on the City Website.

Public Participation at Meetings

Agendas for these meetings are prepared and posted on the Friday prior to meetings and will be available on the City of Dowagiac website by 3:00 p.m. that same day. Council meetings are open to the public, with a segment of each council meeting open for public comments.

Funding

Dowagiac Dial a Ride receives funding from several sources: City of Dowagiac Transit Millage; Fares; the State of Michigan; the Federal Transit Administration.

Financials

The Audited Financial Report was prepared in accordance with Governmental Auditing Standards.  The Report includes the Management's Discussion and Analysis, the Statement of Net Assets, the Statement of Revenues, Expenses and Changes in Fund Net Assets, the Statement of Cash Flows and the Notes to Financial Statements can be found beginning on page 85 in the 2010 Report.
