Governance

Cass County Public Transportation is a service of the Cass County Transportation Authority, which is organized under Public Act 196 of 1986 and governed by a Board of Directors representing various constituencies within Cass County.

Board Meetings

Regular meetings of the board are scheduled at its Annual Meeting on the third Wednesday of October each year. Generally, regular meetings are held at 8:15 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Cass County Building located at 120 N Broadway St, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Public transportation is available to the site and can be scheduled through Cass County Public Transportation. 

Public Participation at Meetings

Public comment is always welcome, and is included in the agenda for each regular meeting of the board of directors.

Funding

Cass County Public Transportation is operated and funded by the Cass County Transportation Authority (CCTA). CCTA’s funding sources currently include the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Federal Transit Administration, contract partners and passenger fares. For five (5) years beginning in early 2025, CCTA will also receive funding from a property tax levy of 0.25 mills approved by Cass County voters in the February 2024 Presidential Primary election.

Financials

The Audited Financial Report was prepared in accordance with Governmental Auditing Standards.  The Report includes the Management's Discussion and Analysis, the Statement of Net Assets, the Statement of Revenues, Expenses and Changes in Fund Net Assets, the Statement of Cash Flows and the Notes to Financial Statements can be found.
